  1. Hi,

Thinking about organising a internet ride using the Personal Trainer Software.

    http://www.trainersoftware.com

Obviously open to everyone everywhere, but was going to go for an 'intermediate' standard race. Was thinking about the 15km mountain/city ride (Perhaps the 12km 'night race'😉

Gonna run it in a week or two. Anyone interested let me know. I'll host and add a pacer. Would be quite cool to race some of you lot even if it is all 'virtual'!

    ..?

Looks like an interesting product - what I don't understand from their website though (which is terribly uniformative!) is what the hardware consists of. As far as I can work out, there's a crank magnet system for pedal cadence measurement and some kind of connection to the computer's USB. It says that it can measure steering as well though - how is that handled?

Basically, can you give a bit more information about what the system consists of. If I end up getting one I'll probably be very interested in virtual racing.

I checked their website just recently and they have added some technical info. in the 'more info' section at the bottom of the page. Still doesn't seem to say exactly what hardware you get however.

I got a USB cable, a box(!) apparently a 'controller box', a load of cable ties & cables, a magnet, a sensor and some other buttons which select stuff (steering, change music track) to attach to my bike. Seems to do the job although took a few minutes to attach the first time. Oh and some Velcro to help you attach the bits.

If I new how to attach pictures I'd put some up here showing you. The thing is it isn't the same color as my bike which looks wierd they should have different colour options for it which would make it fit with your equipment better.
