From the press release earlier this week by Armstrong's London
solicitors:
Accordingly, Lance Armstrong has instructed his lawyers to
immediately institute libel proceedings
1) In the High Court in London against the Sunday Times and
David Walsh seeking an injunction and substantial damages
2) In Paris, against David Walsh, Pierre Ballester, the
publishers of 'LA Confidential' and the publishers of
L'Express.
Proceedings will be filed in the High Court tomorrow. Issued

From today's ProCycling:
Meanwhile, in the case filed against Walsh, Ballester,
Sunday Times journalist Alan English and Times Newspapers
Ltd in England, Armstrong's lawyers Schillings look set to
proceed less swiftly than their French counterparts.
Although the Royal Courts of Justice confirmed on
Wednesday that the legal proceedings had been opened,
Armstrong and his lawyers have four months to gather and
submit their evidence.
It is unclear from the Schillings' press release whether
or not they were going to seek immediate injunctive
relief. Generally, to obtain such equitable relief one
must show that one will suffer irreperable harm if the
injuncion is not immediately issued and further, that it
is likely that the requesting party will prevail on the
merits at trial. It would appear that Armstrong's London
solicitors have at least tacitly acknowledged a
problematic case on their client's behalf.
