INFORMATION FOR ACTION
The Information for Action website explains the
environmental problems and offers solutions to fix them,
including an automated lobbying service. Some of the issues
covered include: air pollution, biodiversity, cars,
chemicals, conservation, consumerism, energy, forests,
genetic engineering, greenhouse, green taxes, human health,
land pollution, lobbying, toxicology, oceans, pesticides,
population growth, radiation, nuclear power, sustainable
living, transport, urbanisation, waste, and water pollution.
There are many valuable resources available here including:
a.. An easy to use lobbying facility, allowing you to
quickly send e-mails, letters or faxes to politicians
and business leaders all over the world. Just click on
a subject to the left and you will be taken to the
information page. Then click on the country where you
live or would like to lobby and you will be taken to
the form page. Finally just click on the title of a
person in the list to load their contact details and
the letter into the form and then add you own contact
details and send it.
b.. A huge database allowing you to search for the
contact details of thousands of politicians, business
leaders, and environmental groups by name, country or
using keywords.
c.. An entertaining and educational quiz which tests your
knowledge of the environmental issues. With heaps of
entertaining cartoons and animations, it's great fun
for all ages.
d.. Various articles and guides on the environment and how
you can help, as well as song lyrics, videos and MP3s.
e.. A database containing information on thousands of
chemicals, including their effects on the environment
and the health of humans.
