  1. A friend of mine has a 2003 Litespeed Siena that has cracked in the most
unusual way. The crack starts at the seat tube near the intersection of the
top tube and goes through the weld into the top tube.

I have seen an Obed crack at a dropout end cap and one on the down tube
about 2 inches from the head tube but nothing like this.

    Comments Appreciated.

  2. Send it back to Litespeed for inspection or at least email them some
pictures. My friend has a 92 or 93 Merlin ti frame, built in
Massachusett, and last year his frame developed a crack around the
downtube shifter boss. Since Litespeed took over Merlin, they agreed to
warranty it and he sent it back. A few weeks later, it came back
    *better* than new!

  3. I agree with bfd, send it back. About 6 years ago I bought one of their
powder coated titanium bikes new. Paint was poor quality. They took it
back, stripped it, brushed it, added new decals all at no charge.

    Primo service imo.

Kept my Classic for 8 weeks to fix a broken rear dropout weld and
kept saying it was taking so long because of a line-up in the
paintshop....returned it fixed but unpainted, with no explaination.
