My questions are, do I have to go through the induction phase again?
You never *have* to do Induction, but if your goal is to do Atkins, it makes sense to follow the plan properly. Induction is also the fastest way to get past the cravings and other problems people experience during the transition. But, some people find it easier to ease into it. You'll have to experiment and find out what works for you.
If you're trying to find your CCLL, Induction is one way of making sure you're firmly on the far side of it before starting the process of searching for it.

And how come I only lose weight when I follow the Induction from a book religiously? If I try to vary from the diet, i.e. having steak and eggs rather than gammon and eggs, my weight just will not go.
Same thing - you have to find out what works for you.
I have tried "Atkins" before, and it worked, but being English, with a love of fish, chips and mushy peas, I soon piled the weight back on.
