I am just starting on my mountain bike adventure. I am looking for an indoor trainer and I was wondering how they perform with Mountain versus Road and if there are any brands/models sepcifically designed for mountain.

buy a 26" slick tire and it will work a lot better. you dont want to ride knobbies on a trainer
Thanks

you can get rim trainers where theres no roller that goes on the tyre, they go on the rim instead but.. theyre [censored], dont get one lol. ive tryed a couple of different brands (minaura, topeak and elite. i didnt buy them, ones we had in the shop) and they all seem to slip quite a bit, better off with a basic road slick and a normal trainer with a roller
