Yes, I'm going to make brunch tomorrow.
In preparation, I have chilled the vodka and prepared an outstanding mixer
using spicy V-8 juice with a splash of lime juice, a couple of dashes of
Worcestershire, Tabasco and of celery salt.
I took my vintage 1960's chrome cocktail shaker (thanks, Mom & Dad!) with
the built-in strainer from the cabinet, washed it and am prepared to impart
to it a mixture of crushed ice, vodka and the mixer, shake it well and try
to find a proper glass for the results. Lord knows I have glasses packed
that I've never found, but not *martini* glasses. And as long as I don't
call it a "V-8 vodka martini" I should be okay, right? 😉 But I digress...
Seriously, I'm going to do something I rarely do for myself. I'm making a
nice big omelet with spinach and a combination of colby and montery jack
cheese. I'd use brie (I love spinach & brie omelets) but I don't have any
brie. Gotta get to the store next week. Before they sell out of everything
for the holidays, ya know.
I have some really nice cracked wheat bread for toast *and* if I'm of a mind
I may even make home fries from diced potatoes with onions and garlic.
Of course, the pesky vintage chrome drink shaker might get in the way of all
these plans of mine. I could end up eating brunch for dinner. That might
not be a bad thing, though 🙂
