Has anybody UK based imported a wheelset from the States? If so did they get hammered for tax and duty. Advice appreciated

I just sold a wheelset to a guy in Canada. It cost me $35.50 to ship, then he had to pay $38(Can.) duty on them. Not sure if that helps.
