  1. Would someone please tell me why you have to make two trips to the store whenever you are doing it yourself?

Two days ago I got a new wheel (brute strong, by the way) for my Trek Navigator, and a tube. I didn't notice the tube was a shraeder valve and the wheel was drilled for presta. Back to the LBS.

Today, I was trying to fix a kitchen sink leak. Evertime we run the dishwasher, there is an overflow at the junction of the down tube and the trap. I checked the compression washer and it was broken. I guess I over tightened it.

So, off to the hardware store for a new washer, 29 cents!

Came back and found the slip nut was cracked Back to the hardware store for a new slip nut. Only $1.36.

Since the parts were cheap, it has to be the oil companies who made up this law, forcing me to waste gas!

    Ratsofrack!

    😠

  2. While putting a new dishwasher in several months back I went to the mega-store fix-it shop 4 times before I got it in without leaking. Amazingly enough, it took a 5th trip to get the proper wrench for getting my head out of my butt! I guess there goes my chance for replacing Bob Vila on the tube.

    K.
