If only I could swim, I would have finished higher in my age group at the Nepean Triathlon yesterday...
There is one advantage to being so slow in the water: You don't get the bad feeling of being overtaken by faster riders. I ended up going past more than 40 riders in 30km.
The retrogrouch in me was happy to go past (more than one) carbon special with disk/tri-spoke wheels. It was further confirming evidence that the motor is more important than the chassis.
The weather was cool, overcast with a moderate breeze - perfect racing conditions. (ahhh.)
Roll on Canberra!
Ritch.
PS. Hippy: 40.4km/h average in C-grade? blimmin 'eck!

Tee hee, that sounds like me, except I say that's my advantage about being slow on the bike - I end up overtaking about 50% of the field on the run!!! Oh dear, that's not good, I'm a shocking cyclist.

Fuel is very important too, I saw that in a magazine.

That's a bunch of 50 riders remember. Not a non-drafting tri. I heard that B-grade went nuts and were up near 50 rather than the more usual low 40's. Anyone confirm? rickster? It looked crazyfast from the sidelines anyway..
