Hi.
I've read a few books, been to a few sites, worked out for a while, and now
I appear to be going nowhere with my workouts, want to strip back to basics,
and try and plan my routine afresh. Only problem is, I've got lost in all
the conflicting info I've read, and now I'm too confused to remember what my
starting blocks should be. Can anyone help with such basic questions as how
many different lifts should I be aiming to do per work out, and what
percentage major and supporting lifts, how to compose a decent routine etc
etc. I know these are easy questions, but I've quite literally lost the
plot, and any direction. Pointers to decent websites would do, I've tried
that Stumptuous (or whatever it's called), one in the past.
My aims are to rework a new and decent routine for sports relating to
throwing, as my major interests are the javelin, and fast bowling in cricket
(pitcher in baseball if you prefer).
So I suppose my priority areas would be shoulders, chest, forearms and
triceps more than biceps... oh, and lats of course. Recently I've been
doing the following, but it sucks as a routine, or at least, it seems to.
Any ideas or pointers welcome, thanks.
Current Routine:
One-armed bench row
Narrow grip bench
Squats
Incline bench
Calf raises
