  1. My mom has just been diagnosed with advanced unresectable
pancreatic cancer. It appears that the cancer has not spread
yet to other organs, but the doctors give her very little
    time to live.

I am desperately trying to find info regarding any
available treatment, whether medical or alternative, that
would offer us at least some hope.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I presume you have heard about Essiac.

When I looked it up I noticed that the Essiac is rather high
in oxalates so I checked out oxalates and found the
following. I don't know whether he is right but he certainly
thinks so. If I was diagnosed with any kind of cancer I
would start to increase my oxalate vegetables. However I
    might develop kidney problems.

Hi Peter, sorry to hear of your mom's predicament. I doubt
that you will get much help here on this group, but you may
get more from other support groups. Search for keywords in
Google Groups Advanced Search and choose groups that are
dealing with what you want and then subscribe to them in
your usual newsreader. Good Luck, and I hope everything
    turns out for the best.

Ay-ya-yay Peter, my hearts goes to you and your family at
this difficult times! My very dear mother in law died from
    p. cancer 6 months after diagnosis. I am not sure what the
doc meant by saying that it hasn't spread yet. If he meant
that it is still confined to the pancreas itself then you
should ask that the entire pancreas be removed. But since he
didn't mention this option, I wonder why?

The only protocol today that extends the life of some people
beyond the average of 6 months was developed and practiced
by Dr. Nick Gonzalez (also spelled Gonzalez) a physician in
private practice. He and oncologists from Columbia U.
received a grant from the NIH some years ago with the
purpose to find out whether his therapy is any better than
the medical therapy that is given by oncologists. Bellow is
a short description of this grant proposal. I found the
information about his protocol after my mother in law died
and have to admit that I have not followed the issue ever
since I read about the grant. To find more, do a search
using his name and the key word "coffee enema" I wish your
    mom the best, galya

"It may sound strange, but the National Institutes of Health
has allocated $1.4 million to study the protocol, and
mainstream doctors believe it may be a breakthrough. In a
preliminary study, the protocol tripled survival times — and
patients who had been expected to die within weeks are still
alive today. Even those working with the study had their
doubts at first. Lead investigator Dr. John Cabot of Columbia-
Presbyterian Hospital in New York "was completely
skeptical," he said. But after reviewing the data, he
decided the therapy was worth a shot. The regimen, created
and administered by New York immunologist Dr. Nicholas
Gonzales, consists of a strict diet that excludes red meat,
poultry, fried foods, alcohol and refined sugar and white
flour products; patients are also given a battery of about
140 vitamin, mineral and enzyme tablets. Pancreatic enzymes
derived from pigs "are the main anti-cancer element of the
program," Gonzales said. And in what may sound bizarre, the
program includes two daily coffee enemas, a "critically
    important part of the treatment."
