If you get a frame for dirt jumping its not going to be light and if you get a light frame for XC then its not going to handle any serious jumping.
You will need to choose which one you are serious about and get a frame that fits that purpose.
ia there a frame that can handle some of each? not to serious in each category
.....or get a second, two bikes are better than one
you should get a specialized hardrock which is light and will handle most dirt jumping or get a bike thats more dirt jump which is a Scott YZ series which are very sturdy(my friend hasnt had a problem with it.)
