  1. I'm like 5'4-5'6, and I'm not quite sure what kind of size to get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Go to your local bike shop, and stand over some of the road frames .......

For a standard frame style you want approximately 1" of clearance between your crotch and the top of the top tube.

For a "compact" frame, go by the manufacturer's recommendation.

My guess is you would ride a Medium for a compact frame, and around a 54 cm for a standard frame.

A lot of it depends on your bodies proportions. If you have long legs and a short torsoe, things change a little for geometries.

Best thing to do is go to your LBS and test ride some to see how they feel. Nothing says you have to buy from them, just try them out.

  3. At the very least a shop sales person should help you sort out what stem length and seat height and setback you should start with. If they don't then don't buy a bike from them.
