  1. It's about time I made this post. Lynne visited with us over the weekend a
week ago. She was part of a group of 10 Usenet friends who got together to
    eat, drink, and be merry.

Lynne is a very fun person to hang out with. She has the most amazing
tattoos! Plus, she's beautiful. The rest of the women were plotting to
slap her around, out of jealousy, but her charm ended that plot, and we
just enjoyed her company. She generously brought me a bag of almond flour,
and she embroidered four lovely guest towels for Crash and me. We hope
she'll be able to attend next year's bash to celebrate my 50th birthday.

She and I both provided low-carb foods for the event (seafood fondue,
cheesecake, and all four versions of my cookies), and there were a LOT of
meat and veggies. London broil; Bulgogi; Fondue with chicken, beef, and
shrimp; Stir-fry with the leftover fondue meats; Grilled chicken with
Jenny's barbecue sauce, which everyone loved; Grilled chicken with garlic
butter and lime baste; Smoked salmon a la Crash - everyone asked for the
recipe; Homemade summer sausage, traditional bratwurst, and Cajun
bratwurst; a variety of vegetables and dips (yes, I indulged in some Wheat
Thins); Mediterranean salad; tomato and black olive salad.

One evil participant showed up with a real cheesecake - four different
variations on chocolate. I allowed some of the other guests to have some.
I thought that was pretty generous on my part.

I gained a few pounds, but have lost 7.5 pounds since the food orgy ended.
I weigh less now than I did before the debauchery began. Maybe the
    occasional carb-up really does work.

Next Wednesday, Michael Nielsen, aka Archon, will be coming for a visit. I
think we're going to take him on the Spam Museum tour. <G> How can a man
from Denmark get a complete impression of America without visiting the Spam
    Museum?
