  1. I know this has probably been asked ad nauseum- but I did a
google groups search on urethritis and came up with no
groups on that subject, so I'm writing to this group.

I am looking for natural remedies online for urethritis-
I've had some form of bladder infection on and off for
decades now- mostly cystitis- ever since getting married
which was 25 years ago! (and yes, hubby and I both do all
the before and after hygeine stuff) -and I'm tired of
antibiotics -it always comes back, and I'm afraid of
getting immune to antibiotics- so I'm going to try
something else. I don't have a UTI, per se- right now- the
dr. says I have urethritis- and it's an infalmmation of the
urethera, and he says antibiotics sometimes don't work
because the tissue in the urethral tube is tougher than
bladder tissue- so all the drugs that have helped me over
the years with bladder infections are still helping me with
bladder infections, but the urethritis is always there. I
have to go to the bathroom when I first feel the need- or
else! It's getting very inconvenient and makes me feel like
    an old woman.

I already take cranberry extract, but if anyone has had the
same problem and has found something, let me know what it
is. So far the herbs recommended are: Uva Ursi, cornsilk,
juniper, colloidal silver, buchu and parsley- I'm trying to
find something with all the ingreds so I don't have to spend
alot of money. I'm aware of the dangers of trying natural
remedies that aren't regulated by the FDA, but I've had it-
    this is the last straw!

    Thank you,

    Karen

  2. Have you consulted with a urologist? I'm surprised after a
long history of infections they haven't done the 'ream out'
dilatation process of the urethra, to open it up.

It would assist with more complete emptying instead of the
gotta go right now. The way I learned indicated that calcium
deposits can narrow the tube, cause backup, rather than free-
flow and then infections, more deposits, etc.

The dilatation is an outpatient procedure and you are
    asleep.

Let us know how it goes.

  4. KS, I did some reading and found a suggestion of drinking
grapefruit juice. I remember that cranberry juice was talked
about as helping bladder infections, so perhaps grapefruit
addresses other aspects of the discomfort. It may be worth a
    whirl to try.

Best and good luck to you, Coleah
