hey i just got a new bike and i heard something a bout putting electric tape so the disc brakes cable dosent scratch the frame or something. why do you put electric tape on and where do you put it on.

It's a dirt bike dude. It lives to be beat up. The more beat up the better.

Yeah I agree, the first time you take it out you'll drop it or a rock will scratch the paint or you'll catch a tree.
Ride hard and leave worrying about the paint to the roadies

Put a small peice of electrical tape anywhere on the frame where cables are rubbing against metal. I don't do it for the paintwork, I just do it because metal on metal is a bad idea if you can avoid it.
