Hi All,
I am new to bike riding and new to single speed riding, but
I wanted to get into shape and have a good time, so I did a
bit of research and decided upon a Redline Monocog Flight.
It is their new aluminum frame SS and it is loads of fun.
I became interested in a Single Speed when a friend at work
bought one
- I believe a Spot bike. And hearing his description made me
interested enough to do some research, and 2 weeks later I
just received my bike and came back from my first ride. I
plan on using the monocog as a commuter until I get in
better shape and then taking it out with friends who have
been riding for about a year.
I could not find anything by anyone about the monocog
flight, so I wanted to post a little something and say that
the thing feels really light (to me, but then again I know
nothing) and is very fun to ride. At first I kept thinking
that I wished the gear was a little more powerful, as I
wasn't riding that fast. That was on the way down the hill.
The way back up was a mofo, but I managed not to stop
(although I did a heck of a lot of standing up).
As far as the monocog goes, I love it. The seat was a bit
tough on the hindquarters, but after my legs and lungs
started burning, I noticed that I didn't really have any
buttly discomfort.
I'll keep you posted. If anyone has any questions, I'll do
my best to answer - but remember I don't know a thing. I'm
just here to ride and have fun.
