  1. Can anyone please advise me on what to do next ?

For some time I have had high blood pressure treated with a variety of
drugs and combinations of drugs. Some I had to be taken off because of
side effects but seem settled at the moment on the following daily
intake of. Perindopril 8mg, Ateneolol 50 mg, Nifedipine 30 mg,
frusemide 20 mg. I also take allopurinol to prevent the gout and
Losec for a 3 cm benign Barrets Intestinal metaplasia. My BP is now
    about 160/95

Anyway I recntly experienced severe tummy pain and the Doctor tried to
book me a scan there and then at the local hospital (In the UK) The
first appointment I could have was December next. I offered to pay and
had a scan privately the next day.

Result My Rt kidney is normal (11.4 cm)and my left is significantly
smaller (8.4 cm) with thinned cortex.."
I also have." a 4.8cm aortic aneurysm- probably infrarenal"

I have been getting severe tummy pain .oh an my Creatinine level is
    double the normal.

My Doctor is trying to get me in to see a vascular and a renal
consultant..but being the UK this could take a long time and I cannot
    afford private treatment.

Any advise on how I can help myself whilst I wait ?? Or what can I ask
my GP to do to help me/

Sorry so long.a message but help will be appreciated.

    Thanks PS 60 year old

Your GP needs to increase your atenolol until your blood pressure is
    controlled in the 110/60 range.

  3. I was having a bad time getting my BP down. Then I ended up with Afib. My
Cardio gave me Norvasc that finally brought it down. I also take cozaar, and
a diuretic. We tried many different meds to bring the pressure down. I now
    read around 115/60
..Now I also have to take Amiodarone for the Afib...
    Luck to you...Nel
