I've recently started running and after around a week of wildly
unpredictable bowel movement (which I was told is normal at first), my
body seems to have adjusted. I run about 45 minutes every day,
including weekends, between nine and ten am.
Now that my metabolism has apparently settled down, I'm overcome with
unbelievable hunger pangs starting about an hour after I run, and
continue well after lunch. I haven't increased my calorie intake, not
because I'm trying to lose weight (I'm not fat), but because it feels
like this isn't "real" hunger. I know that sounds weird, but either
way, eating doesn't do anything to alleviate the hunger pangs.
Is this normal? Should I be eating more? If so, what? If not, is there
something I should be doing, like drinking energy drinks before running
or something? Or is it just a sign of my body still adapting to the new
routine?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Marc
