I have a set of Bontrager Race Lite Aero wheels that I am putting a 10 speed Dura-Ace cassette on. I noticed the the splines on the hub do not fit all the way up in the slots on the 10 speed cassette like it did on the 9- speed cassette. Is this a problem and will this damage my hub or cassette.

Not a problem.That is the way it has to be due to the deeper 10 speed spline pattern,and it is compatible.

The deeper splines on DURA ACE 10 speed are required for the lighter aluminum cassette body that is on the 10 speed DURA ACE hub. If your Bontrager cassette body is aluminum you will notice some notches into the aluminum ridges. Since the 10 Speed DURA ACE cassette has a carrier that ties together adjacent cogs the impact on your cassette body is mitigated. All that said, damage depends on your weight and amount of torque you apply. Shimano says that it is totally suitable to put a 10 speed DURA ACE cassette on their 9 speed hubs. I extracted some good ideas from the Chris King web site: "Some splined cog carriers fit loosely on our drive shells. Since both are made of aluminum, they may creak under certain riding conditions (e.g., water and dry dust.) Additionally, if the lock ring is not tight enough, the cogs may move under load. Solution: Apply a thin layer of grease or anti-seize to splines on the drive shell and check lock ring and torque to manufacturers specifications. "
