Howgills - from the west...parking question?

I know there is parking at Low Carlingill Bridge/Gibbet Hill as I've
used it, and I've met people up on the fell who have parked at a
farm/some farms along that Howgill road to the south of there.
According to Wainwright there is a small parking space a few yards
north of Fairmile Gate, which is where you are asking about, but that
information may now be incorrect. I'd just go and see what's available
in the knowledge you can park a mile further north if you have to.

That's where I saw some cars parked last year when I climbed Grayrigg. I
then found a website (lost the address) recommending that location (or very
close) to start a walk on the western side of the Howgills.
