How to get a star nut?

Visit a local bicycle shop and get one.
Or if you must mail order, ExcelSports carries them.

I bought a Ringo Star for mine, its a small twin collor that goes below your headset spacers & has a grub screw in which you use to tighten the headset then it has a bung that fits on your stem top so you dont need a star nut wrecking the inside of your fork steerer.
You can sort of see it on this picture (below the carbon spacers on my bike)

Actually, Nashbar does have them on their site - both 1'' and 1 1/8''
