How to fit Rack to Bike

That bracket looks cracked. Or is it just my eyes? 🙄

You are missing at least one piece for your rack ...

You can fudge it by fabricating a T-shaped brace ... you can probably modify one that is used for re-enforcing wood joints if you aren't handy enough to fabricate one.

Make a template ... bring it to your hardware store ... find something that approximates what you want to use!

You will also need two bolts+nuts+(lock washers) to secure the rack to the upper-portion of the 'T'. The long end will be secured to the frame using the brake's bolt (i.e., secure the "tail" of the 'T' between the frame and the brake caliper).

Of course, you also need bolts to secure the bottom of the rack to your frame ... the frame's eyelets may be theaded ... probably metric ... often, the same size as for your water bottle cage and/or shoe cleats.

Didn't realize it should be one piece. Thanks for the responses. Someone at work told me to use a hose clamp to secure the joint..em..Gives me something to go with for now...Planning to look that some photos of the "T-bracket" at Nashbar.com to see what to look for at the hardware store...

Any other suggestions...
