So its come to my attention that RGT Cycling allows users to create private routes, because, you know, who needs to ride with the unwashed masses when you can keep your routes all to yourself? But seriously, how do you actually create these private routes? Is it a feature reserved for the truly elite riders, or can anyone create their own private playground?
Im curious to know, is there a specific reason why the route creation process is so obscure? Is it a deliberate attempt to keep the plebeians from cluttering up the platform with their amateur routes, or is it just a case of poor design?
Lets get down to brass tacks here - whats the actual process for creating private routes on RGT Cycling? Do you need to have a certain level of subscription or ride a certain number of miles before youre granted access to the secret route-creation menu?
And while were on the subject, whats to stop someone from creating a private route thats just a carbon copy of a public route? Is there some kind of route-validation process in place to prevent this kind of thing from happening, or is it more of a trust the community kind of approach?
I mean, its not like Im planning on creating a private route thats just a series of tight switchbacks and abrupt elevation changes, designed specifically to torture my poor friends who are foolish enough to follow me... but I am curious to know, is there anything in the RGT Cycling terms of service that would prevent me from doing just that?
