How old is my Klein?

In 2002 Klein moved manufacturing to Waterloo.
2001 and beyond had replaceable derailleur hangers.
Before 1997 I think they only had "Attitude", not the "Attitude Race" or "Attitude Comp" etc, so it seems like you've narrowed it down pretty well. Color and stem could help pinpoint it.

I do not have the stem, but it had nomal 1" 1/8 headset cups which I have removed.

The colour is a lovely blue/deep purple fade, quite a popular one I think.

I think it's a 2000, but I haven't been able to convince myself. I think the color is called "plum crazy" and they did that on a lot of road and mntn bikes.
