How many of you carry a gun as part of your cycling equipment?

Actually, I understand your point. It's good to be prepared for situation like that, but those situation wouldn't be a problem if guns weren't around in the first place. It doesn't work that good in there, there's a ton of news about people getting murdered.

More guns does not cause more murder. In fact, it is the opposite. You won't care for these links, but some might. The murder rates in pre-firearm England were much higher.....until small pistols (fusils) became cheap and widely available.

Contrary to conventional wisdom, and the sniffs of our more sophisticated and generally anti-gun counterparts across the pond, the answer is “no.” And not just no, as in there is no correlation between gun ownership and violent crime, but an emphatic no, showing a negative correlation: as gun ownership increases, murder and suicide decreases

Never let facts get in the way of what you want to believe.:)

My guns have killed fewer people than Teddy Kennedy's car.

There are what around 500 accidental gun deaths per year compared to 35,000 accidental motor vehicle deaths? More bicyclists are mowed down and killed by cars than the total accidental gun deaths.

Cars scare me.

Guns? Not so much.

Do you plan on being robbed, assaulted, mugged, carjacked or murdered?

Do you plan for a house fire? Own a fire extinguisher or two? Do you plan for a vehicle breakdown with a trunk full of tools, road flares and the training and practice to use them?

No?

Well, that's understandable then.

Now, I know why CampyBob carries a gun while cycling.

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2016/02/11/machete-attack.html

The news this morning said the machete wielder was Somalian and lunged at the cops. I bet Al Sharpton will soon be in Ohio demanding to know why the police didn't taser this Muslim terrorist. Even though the article doesn't say it, the morning news identified him as Mohammad something or the other.

Hope Sharpton gets tased.

Saw that in the news...disgruntled ISIS moron looking to chop heads?

Obama's libtard news media will never tell us the truth. They can't handle the truth.

"He was shot by police, Weiner said, after he got out of his car with the machete in a threatening manner. Two officers fired guns and the man died at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center at 6:24 p.m."

Gee. That's too damned bad.

Say...you fellas want to chip in to buy the officers some replacement ammunition and a marksmanship trophy? One less moron wasting my oxygen on the planet today.

Good shooting, officers!!!

The decision to carry a firearm should not be made lightly especially when you travel outside of America to places like the People's Republic of NewJersitan where possession of a toy airsoft gun can get you 3-10 years. Know your laws, Komrades. Given my proclivity for high BC projectiles, CB would know which comments are mine in the attached but the point of this is post to say, be careful going outside your state with any firearm. Firearm permits/licenses are not common sense like a Drivers License that works in all 50 states.

I plan never to cross the border into Joisey again in my lifetime...unless aboard a B-52 on a mission to carpet bomb the state.

BTW, the level of retardedness in the comments lowered my I.Q. 27 points.

Yeah, I spotted you. Throwing logic at those fools was like trying to put out a fire with gasoline. I fear for our Republic...has anyone got a tachometer on Ben Franklin's grave?

Lot of people read that rag and hopefully, not all Subjects are Libtards and they might actually do something but they are more interested in some fat, ugly Armenian chick down Da Shore. Good decision to stay out. I hope to be out, soon

The last time I flew into Newark the place stink stank stunk. Guidos everywhere. I was forced by business I could not turn down to meet there.

When it was that company's turn to meet in Ohio, their engineers did not want to go back. I was understanding and offered two of them a month's free stay in my other house.

My gun buddies from New Yawk all moved over into Pa. and commute. Now they own all the fast and quiet toys and breath free air.

I can actually envision the day when free men leave the socialist slave States and form their own country. Isn't that a sad future?

Moved from TN to PA. Own 2 hgs purchased in TN privately. PA requires a bgc AND ffl transfer for a private sale. TN doesn't. Not even a sales receipt. Though it's wise to insist on one. I did. In PA an extra 10.00 for the BGC and 35.00 for the ffl transfer. Not exactly FREE air. Beats the carp out of NY and NJ, though.

Yeah, Pa. has some weird firearm laws. Philadelphia...birthplace of Liberty?

I used to rifle hunt deer over there. Beautiful, but I prefer Tennessee's freedom and will semi-retire there.

Right. When living south of the MD I felt like I could actually breathe. There are such incredible societal contraints I feel claustrophobic living here. If not for my son, dil and granddaughters I would've NEVER moved here. I mean, it's a state law in TN public restrooms MUST be available in commercial stores. Try making that assumption up north. The small-minded, petty meaness in simply FUNCTIONING in former Union states is straight up culture shock.

Btw, tried to leave you a PM about the below. Was blocked so I thought I'd leave it here. Something I ran across in my never ending search for deals on bike stuff.

Wow! $20 for most of a Centaur 10-speed road group with a 50-34 compact chainrings in a pair of 175 MM arms? That's a one heck of a deal!

If I were local I would be on my way over to his place and sprain my wrist whipping out a twenty! You could probably sell the pedal extenders for $10 and the pedals for another $10...free group!
