I've been noticing that the shifting on the centaur triple set has been a bit inconsistant in the rear.Tried giving it a good tune tonight and can't get it to consistantly up and down shift at both ends of the cassette. I end up having to "half shift) in one direction or the other to insure the shift happens, otherwise when you go to shift again it double shifts which costs you momentum being in the wrong gear too long, then going straight past the gear you want.
The bike has done about 8000km, mostly dry riding, chain and casstte replaced in the last 1000kms. No squeeking from the chain. I doubt the shifter needs servicing, so could it be the cable??
yes operator error is always a possiblility, but turning a cable adjuster isn't rocket science! SHift gear, turn screw til shift happens, check all shifts, retune, retune, retune, never settles down!!
I shouldn't have to be half shifting with modern campy.
