I have a 3 year old pair of Carnacs and I notice much more pressure on my foot at the cleat than I used to.
Are they shot?

I replaced my shoes when they started doing the same sort of thing. I guess the platform under the sole eventually starts to bend or break or just wearout. It stinks (the situation, not the shoe of course!) but makes sense it would happen given the stress they regularly see, you know? Keep the rubber side down.

serviceable. These used to be my main shoes (until replaced by a pair of Energies last year) so
probably have upwards of 50,000 miles on them.jeverett3<AT>earthlink<DOT>net home.earthlink.net~jeverett3Open ↗

How many kilos have you put on the shoes? I have Shimano mountain shoes (M55 or so?) from '98, about
10000 km on them, still going strong. I had to replace the strings, and the Shimano pedals are
almost busted soon, but the shoes are still going strong, no apparent signs of wear or breakage
inside or outside.--
