  1. Obviously blood is drawn by a doctor/nurse/whoever and that is clearly the rider's being tested. What happens with urine though? Do the riders literally have to stand and pee in front of a certified authority? I have not read 'Breaking the Chain' but did see somewhere that in that book it mentions cyclist putting condoms filled with someone else urine up there anus and then using a tube that is consealed with pubic hair. Has the system overcome this 'work-around' or could it still be common practice?

Also, what is the current legislation regarding doping control? Lance says that he gets a lot of out of competition testing; however, how does this work? Do they turn up on your door step and expect to be let in right away? Or would it be possible to tell them to come back in an hour (use some excuse like 'I'm washing the dog'!) then hook yourself up to an IV in the time you just brough yourself to lower ones HCT?

Just interested in how some of these guys get around it all.

Yup, drop your pants, pull up your shirt, and raise your arms so they can tell you're not hiding anything. I think this method of foiling the urine tests isn't seen much anymore.

Once they show up, you have to pee before they leave - you can take them out for a coffee or something though if you're dry. Google Kevin van Impe for some insight on the inhumanity of it all.

  3. nope

  4. Now athlete has to [censored] in front of a watcher to avoid the old tricks.

For male it's has became more difficult to cheat during the pee. But they can fill with clean urine their bladder. They can use masking agent, or put soap...
