  1. OK, I am new to cycling and am slowly learning ... but I have seen some post were people said they focus on Watts & Power vs. HR etc. How does one calcualte power & watts?

    generally, with a power meter such as the SRM, Power Tap, Polar S710/720/725 or an Ergomo.

    Alternatively a steep hill (low speed) and physics or www.analyticcycling.com
