How Do You Measure Stem Length?

I have to replace /lengthen my Bontrager Race Road stem. How do I determine the length of the
present stem; from where and to where do I measure? As an option, I'm guessing I could pull the
present stem and find a length marked someplace. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

center of the handlebar to center of the steerer, along the stem angle, not true horizontal (unless
it's a 0deg stem).

Or unless it's an ITM.

0 degree stems are not horizontal.

From the center of the quill to the center of the clamp, along a line perpendicular to the quill.
