How do I measure for a new fork??

Dear Cycling Experts; I am a second year triathlete with an older Softride and I want to upgrade to a carbon fork (I am thinking about buying a used Reynolds Aero Pro 650c). I know that I have to measure my head tube but not sure how and what to do next. How can I tell if I need a threaded or threadless fork? Thanks for your expertise!😕
