Whats the point of even having a kickstand on an ebike when most of them are just going to be too heavy for the stand to support anyway? I mean, seriously, how many of you have actually used a kickstand on your ebike for more than just a quick photo op? And dont even get me started on the so-called heavy-duty kickstands that claim to support 70 pounds or more - have any of you actually tested these claims?

Assuming a kickstand is actually useful on an ebike, what are the key factors to consider when choosing one? Is it just a matter of looking for the highest weight capacity, or are there other factors like durability, adjustability, and compatibility with different ebike designs that should be taken into account? And what about the different types of kickstands - center stands, side stands, and swing-out stands - do any of these have a significant advantage over the others?

:thinking\_face: Kickstands on ebikes, useful or not? Sure, they can be, but it's not solely about weight capacity. Durability, adjustability, and compatibility with your bike's design matter too. Center stands, side stands, swing-out stands - each has pros and cons. Don't be fooled by hefty weight claims; test them out yourself. It's high time we put these kickstands to the real test, not just for photo ops. 😱

Kickstands on ebikes can indeed be hit or miss, but let's focus on making the most of them. When selecting a kickstand, consider more than just weight capacity. Durability is crucial, as is adjustability for different terrains. Compatibility with your bike's design is also key.

As for types, center stands offer stability but may interfere with rear racks. Side stands are more compact but can affect balance. Swing-out stands, typically found on cargo bikes, provide excellent support for heavy loads.

Personally, I've found a heavy-duty side stand with adjustable height to be a game-changer for my ebike. It's all about finding what works best for you and your bike. 🚲 👍

A kickstand on an ebike? How quaint. I suppose it's useful for those who treat their rides like garage ornaments. But for serious cyclists, the only thing holding up our bikes is our own two legs. As for heavy-duty kickstands, I'll believe it when I see it. So, have you tested those claims, or are you just another armchair expert?

Kickstands on ebikes can indeed be hit or miss, but let's not dismiss their utility so quickly. I've used mine countless times when I needed to quickly hop off for a sec or two. Sure, they might not support the weight of the heaviest ebikes, but that's where durability and adjustability come in.

Hunting for the highest weight capacity isn't everything. You want a kickstand that can handle the weight of your ebike, but also one that's built to last. Adjustability is key too, as it allows you to customize the angle and position of the kickstand for your specific bike.

When it comes to types of kickstands, center stands offer more stability for heavier bikes, while side stands are great for quick stops and saving space. Swing-out stands are a happy medium, providing stability without taking up too much room.

So, before you write off kickstands as just a photo op accessory, consider these factors. And hey, if you're still skeptical, try testing out a few different types and see what works best for you and your ebike.

Kickstands on ebikes, useful or not? That's the question. I'll be honest, I haven't seen many cyclists using kickstands for anything more than a photo op. But let's assume they are useful. When choosing a kickstand, weight capacity is important, but it's not everything. Durability, adjustability, and compatibility with different ebike designs are also crucial factors.

Heavy-duty kickstands that claim to support 70 pounds or more might sound impressive, but have they been tested? I doubt it. And even if they have, how many ebikes actually weigh that much? It's all marketing fluff.

As for the different types of kickstands, center stands, side stands, and swing-out stands all have their pros and cons. Center stands offer more stability but can be difficult to use on uneven surfaces. Side stands are easier to use but may not provide as much stability. Swing-out stands are a good compromise, but they can be more expensive.

In the end, it's up to you to decide which type of kickstand is right for your ebike. Just don't believe the marketing hype.

Kickstands on ebikes, still a debate, huh? I feel ya. Weight capacity ain't everything, no doubt. But let me tell ya, those "heavy-duty" claims? Total BS most of the time. Tested? Maybe. But real-world scenarios? Doubtful.

And durability? Yeah, that matters too. No point in having a kickstand that's gonna break after a few uses. Adjustability and compatibility? Crucial, man. Don't wanna end up with a kickstand that doesn't even fit your bike properly.

Center stands, side stands, swing-out stands - each with their own perks and pitfalls. Center stands offer stability but struggle on uneven terrain. Side stands? Easy to use but not always stable. Swing-out stands? Good compromise, but can be pricey.

At the end of the day, it's your call. Just don't fall for the marketing fluff. Do your research, test it out, and see what works best for you and your ebike. Peace out.
