I take back everything I've said about roadies' lycra clad buttocks. Today I got stuck behind a police horse. Much worse.
Got passed too close by the same bus three times the other night. The third time I'd got to a bit of double lane stuff, so sat my bike to the right of centre of the lane to force him to turn the wheel to the right a bit when overtaking. He did, _still_ passed too close, and then moved in too soon and forced me left. Incompetence rather than deliberate but annoyed me a bit.
Happiness the next day I was on a bus this time. Stopped to let down passengers. Cars parked on bus stop so didn't pull in to the curb. Passenger about to get off when the bus driver tells 'em to "wait a bit, there's a cyclist coming". Nearly fainted. Why can't they all be like this guy?

The thought of a police horse's buttocks clad in Lycra is indeed a horrible thought. I mean, that tail stuffed down into the Lycra would make for a nasty sight - or did it have a strategically placed hole for the tail to come out & swish about as per normal?

Yeah, but the padding inside horse shorts is for the same purpose as road-racers use it for, if you get my drift.
A horse with nappy rash must be truly fearsome.
