Quite. Swap 'over sixty "waiting for god" brigade' with 'turban wearing curry cooking brethren' or even 'wheel chair driving paraplegics' and you can understand the true distaste of this comment. It isn't necessary to be objectionable to be funny. ___ Michael MacClancy
The OP was going to collect a new black shirt.

Sigh... when did you have the sense of humour by-pass?

It'a a good job your humour wasn't racial. In this PC society lots of

And yet, ironically enough, with your stubbern "kids were more polite in my day" ways, your objectionality really is quite hilarious.
Old people nowadays aren't like they used to be...

I'm sure there is still some life left in this thread. Helen, didn't happen to get his opinions on helmets did you? :-)
LOL. I think a husband and a teenage son means quite enough male interest in my life, thank you!

It is one thing to dismiss a potential life partner on the basis of a life threatening cardiac condition and knackered knees - it is quite another to wear black on black! I shudder to thing of the "club" involved.
He's a teenager, good grief! He's going to a formal dinner and wants to look smart but still a teenager! It's the local cycling club dinner, not the local Nazi party dinner!

I will continue to wear my plus fours and hacking jacket on my shopper this evening - hope the foxy young thing in green and yellow is on the embankmewnt on my way home - think I impressed her last time with my prolapse story.
Good for you. --This is an invalid email address to avoid spam-- to get correct one remove dependency on fame & fortune h*$el*$$e**nd***$o$ts***i*$*$m**m$$o*n**s@$*$a$$o**l.c**$*$om$$
There is a VERY serious point to made here! Never mind complaints to the ITC or the humourless rantings of some PC infected 'get-a-lifers'...Helen states;
"It's a bit dire when a girl gets chatted up by someone over sixty with a dodgy heart and arthritic knees ;-) "
Personally I intend to protest (in the strongest possible terms) under the Trades Description Act to the obviously misleading use of the word "girl". HEHE

Well, TooSore
I didn't want to mention this to Helen, but a black suit along with a black shirt is a bit naff, IMO. A white shirt is the only way to go. Still, there's no accounting for teenagers' tastes.
Helen, what colour's Nathan's intended tie?
