1. Hi, I am a 39 years old female road cyclist living in Toronto, Canada. On sunday I crashed on my bike and ended up with a fractured ischium and tailbone. The doctor said this type of injuries heal on their own and that I should be back on the bike in 6 to 12 weeks, or at least that is what I think he said, I was a little confused since I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I was wondering if anybody who has sustained a similar injury could let me know how long it took them to get back on the bike, whether they did therapy or not, whether they saw a specialist or just the fracture doctor, how painful it was, how concerned I should be about it, etc. I am not in severe pain and can move acceptably on my crutches, can sit on a rigid chair, but I definitely cannot bear weight on my right leg and my calf has started hurting rather badly. thank you in advance for your help,

  2. Bernarda, I don't have any advice on those particular injuries, but I do hope you have a swift full recovery.

    Get well soon!

  3. I hope you get well soon. I am sorry, I am not familiar with that injury. I do think it sounds painful.
