Has anyone has any opinions about the Highgear Summit. Does it suck. It
is quite a bit cheaper than the Suunto equivalent.

Can't help directly with the Highgear Summit, but BackpackGearTest.org
did test the Highgear Axis Altimeter Watch and IIRC the reports where
not to favourable. The golden rule applies, you pay for what you get
