highest drop

Your Alex DX32 rim broke from a 7" drop? Thats weird, cause I did plenty
of those, and 8 footers, and my rim is still fine.

My biggest are around 8 feet or something bigger. I havent done too
many drops lately so I havent been around those spots. Ill ahve to
measure them again.

Ill need to get a new rim though. The drilled KH rim doesnt handle as
well as the Alex DX32 rim did.

Most likely it was a dead flat drop that crushed Unidudedx's rim; the
worst kind for big drops! I think I've just been lucky because I have
that LM rim, and I weigh only 142 lbs.

Luckily the vast majority of my big drops are either to a sloped
landing area, or rolling hops, like that 8 set, where I can easily roll
out with all the forward momentum, which distributes the wheel stress
effectively.😄

Yeah, there is only one drop where I have troubles rolling out, which
is good for the KH.

The DX though, I put that through all my learning, and when I wasnt
good at rolling out yet, and so all my drops where to flat. I do know I
kept the spokes tensioned as well as I could after every ride, so that
might have something to do with it.

3' to flat concrete, and that was on my old beginner $100 uni and
amazingly, it didn't break! I had only been riding 3 months at the time
and I was so amazed at myself.

I haven't really bothered with drops lately, too much risk of hurting
myself and I've kinda been working on more "skillful" things :P.
Although if I'm feeling crazy sometime I think I could probably land 4'

Hugo did a 9 foot drop onto grass, 7.6" onto concrete and 11 or 12
landing in the sand. His DX32 is still running very fine.

kh rim might as well be paper, ok, like 5 ppl have broken it...

i did a 14 foot drop down the side of a sand dune. (got stuck in the
sand, doesn't really count, but it was really fun!)
9 foot to grass
and idk how high i got when i jumped my truck, but it was up there.

the rim survived all of that. too bad a 4 stair took it out...

yoggi tried a 14 footer and couldn't get it... KH and a few others did
12's, as far as i know thats the record.
