I bought a bike with a Cheviot frame from Paul Hewitt back in September.

Since I live near to Leyland, I went to the (extremely small) shop to get measured up. He has a special rig that you can sit on while he makes adjustments. I didn't get the specification shown in the magazine reviews on his website. I gave him a price I wanted to pay, told him what I wanted to use the bike for ( comfortable Sunday rides, not bothered about racing etc ) and he recommended the components to use.

I've only been on the bike a few times because I also have a mountain bike and sometimes I go hiking and sometimes, well, I just feel like staying in bed where it's warm and dry. Roll on Spring........

I'm happy with the bike but I'm afraid that I'm not an expert and can't compare it to other bikes. The Cheviot frame does have all the fittings needed to attach mudguards and panniers as you can see from the pictures in the reviews on the website at http://www.hewittbikefitting.co.uk

I would say that the staff at the shop seem friendly and knowledgeable. All bikes appear to be custom built so that you could specify any combination of components you want to meet your needs. Prices for these are also on the website.
