Hi, I am new to cycling and have a question. The bike I am using is an old peugeot (spelling) and it has sti shifters. My question is this; the left shifter is not working properly as it seems to slip, can i replace this shifter alone with any level componentry from shimano as i have seen some single shifters for sale on ebay rather than buying a new pair. Also is it easy to change the shifter as I have never done it before and what is involved.
Thanks in advance...

Thanks in advance...What's the model of the old shifter? How many chainrings you got? www.parktool.com shows you how to go about installation.

It has shimano RSX stamped on them and 2 chainrings on the front.
Thanks

AFAIK you can replace it with any Shimano left STI lever.
