I recently got my metabolic panel done and below are the results of
the energy substrate utilization test:
ENERGY SUBSTRATE UTILIZATIONS:
CARBOHYDRATE 56 g/24h –- 15.5 % OF TOTAL
FAT 104 g/24h -- 65.0 % OF TOTAL
PROTEIN 69 g/24h -- 19.7 % OF TOTAL
I also got diagnosed with impaired fasting glucose.
Nobody had time to explain these results to me and I didn't want to be
a bother and refrained from asking any questions.
Everyone here seems to be very knowledgeable and helpful and I would
be very thankful if someone would be kind enough as to help me a
little.
Could these results indicate that I would do well on a low
carbohydrate diet, since I don't seem to metabolize carbohydrates very
efficiently?
I really haven't got an idea what all of this means--any and all help
with interpreting these results would be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
