help with bicyle chain easily falls off

It might not be an adjustment, but possibly a bent link in the chain, bent or missing tooth on a
chainring, frame or drivetrain alignment issue etc. The front derailleur really doesn't do a whole
lot of work to actually keep the chain from coming off, except when shifting.

What type of bike is it, what condition are the parts, etc?

It could be the type of thing that a shop could recognize very quickly.
