I mentioned in another thread that my wife was buying a HP Streetmachine. She'd ridden it twice
outside the shop and loved it. Monday morning she put it on the trainer and ended up with fairly
bad pain in her lower back just over her right hip. We tried putting a brick under the front tire
so that the bike isn't on a slope when she's riding on the trainer and that helped, but didn't fix
things completely. We also looked through threads here to see what was said about recumbent butt
and got the impression that this is too far up her back to be recumbent butt. Does that sound
right? It also seems to be more like a bruised area with pain that lingers rather than fades the
moment she stops.
It's important to figure out if it is the standard recumbent butt because she's also had problems
with her back and has an artificial spinal disk. We'd hoped that the streetmachine would help with
her back because she did so well riding it outside, but it may not work for her on the trainer.
