Right then, I've figured out a rough route which is down to the coast and follow it (the coastline) to Cornwall. Now what I need is some help. What is the best map to get so that I can plan it down to the road I will travel. I was originaly going to purchase a mapping software for the Geko but will prove too costly. I plan to try and stay clear of the main roads like A roads if I can help it but will use them if have to.
Also a bed for the night would be welcome to save me hunting for a BnB or camp site.
Oh last question for curiousity sake what does the law say about kipping on the beach over night.

For longer distance cycling I would go for the Ordnance Survey 1:250'000 (4 miles to the inch) maps. Shows every road and has contour information. With the caveat that for Cornwall a more detailed map might come in handy due to the hilly terrain. As I found to my cost small navigation errors in Cornwall can mean retracing your path up some very steep hills.
