My husband and I are just getting back into biking. We live close to the creeper trail, which is a rail trail and will be going there a lot but also plan on going a few other places which are mainly bike paths. I am leaning more toward thinking the comfort trail type bikes may be good for us? We are both a little over weight right now and my husband has a bad back. So thinking these may be a good start as opposed to a straight up mountain bike? What do you guys think and what could we buy that is a comfort trail bike for under 350 each?

Any of the big brand bike companies will have a decent bike that you are looking for. Trek for example have the Trek 700 which would be perfect for rail trails.

That bike isnt really a comfort bike is it?

I guess it depends on your definition of comfort. To me that is a comfort bike as you are seated up right, not bent over like race bikes and has other comfort features like suspension seat.
