I have a cruddy old exercise bike .. it only has a naff speedometer on it and that is it!
How can I (mathematically) work out cadence and my watts?
I'm not even completely sure what these terms mean.
Does it depend on my weight and height etc? Resistance? At the moment I am about as technical as 'I cycle until I'm tired' which is hardly a basis for an exercise regime!

work out your cadence by counting the number of revs in 15-secs and mutltiplying by 4.

Do not worry about watts. Not worth your time since you are looking for more then fitness information from watts, you are addressing mechanical issues in performance. Worry about watts on your race bike
