Hi all.
I have signed on to participate in the Alzheimer's Memory Ride on July 23, 2011. It is a metric century. I haven't ridden in 15 years, and then it was a mountain bike while living in the city.
I bought a Jamis Coda Sport, a helmet, spare tubes, ect. I know I still need "stuff" like proper footwear, clothing, ect. I learning a lot from this forum, and I appreciate it very much.
I was wondering if anyone in the area would be interested in showing a newbie the ropes? I'm looking for practical info on equipment, training (I'm at a loss with all the gears and how to use them properly), ect. I'd love to join someone on a local ride to learn as well.
I know this is asking a a lot, and may seem a bit lame, but I really want to do this right. I want this to be a lifelong (I'm 40, who knows?) activity.
Thanks for listening (reading).
Brian
