I was riding a little kids bike (my other bike wasn't with me that day), when I heard this loud crack then I realized my chain had popped off. Please tell me how to tighten the chain

A "kids bike" will typically have a rear wheel which is held in place with nuts on a solid axle ...
If that is how the wheel on the bike in question is held in place then you need to loosen the nuts on both side of the rear wheel's axle ... an adjustable wrench will be fine.
Then, put the chain back on the chainring & sprocket ...
Tension the chain by pulling the wheel toward the rear of the bike ...
Align the tire so it is centered behind the seat tube ...
Tighten both nuts.
Done.
