updating my 94 cannondale R-300, I need to find out how tell if the the bike can handle a 9 or 10 speed cog.Where do I measure?

You want to measure the frame's rear dropout spacing ... if it is 130mm, then you can install a rear wheel which can accept a 9-or-10 speed cassette.
If the frame's rear dropout spacing is 126mm, then there will be some limitations as to what you can do to update your bike ... but, it will be doable.

thanks.it looks its 127mm I am getting 5 inches,anyway, whats next?I will upgrade to 8 speed and leave it at that.So will I need anything specical to proform this upgrade, other than cog and derailleur maybe a new wheelset?
